In a groundbreaking step to provide affordable housing for low-income families, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz has given a major push to her flagship project Apni Chhat Apna Ghar by partnering with the Bank of Punjab (BOP).
This collaboration will make interest-free home loans easier, faster, and more accessible for thousands of deserving households across the province.
MoU Signed for Faster Home Loans
The agreement was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Punjab Housing Department and Bank of Punjab.
The signing ceremony was attended by Housing Minister Bilal Yasin, BOP President Zafar Masud, and other senior officials, showcasing a united commitment to improving Punjab’s housing sector.
Under this partnership, Bank of Punjab will serve as the exclusive financing partner for the fiscal year 2025–26, offering:

More funds for eligible applicants
So far, over Rs. 60 billion in loans have been disbursed to 52,000+ beneficiaries, with Rs. 900 million recovered monthly through easy installments. An additional Rs. 10 billion will soon be released to expand the scheme’s reach.

With a target of 100,000 homes in just 4.5 years, the Apni Chhat Apna Ghar Scheme is already transforming lives. The program covers:

To date, more than 51,000 families now own homes, while 45,000+ houses are under construction. The initiative is expected to generate over 500,000 jobs, bringing both shelter and economic opportunities to Punjab’s citizens.
